Overview
Haematology Consultant specialising in Lymphoma to join Hywel Dda University Health Board. The post supports service redesign across the health board and introduces a Lymphoma subspecialty within a dedicated Haematology team.
Responsibilities
* Demonstrate experience in the management of Lymphoma and General Haematology.
* Develop the Lymphoma subspecialty across the health board and work alongside generalist consultants.
* Participate in inpatients with an attending and on-call rota for the Haverfordwest site; provide consultative input at three peripheral sites.
* Participate in 3–4 clinics per week in Lymphoma and General Haematology (consider other subspecialist workload based on experience).
* Engage in weekly health board–wide MDTs and other MDTs from across Wales as appropriate.
* Contribute to all aspects of general haematology and haemato-oncology work, including departmental meetings and on-call duties.
* Support development of a rural service to ensure excellent patient care.
* Be GMC registered on the specialist register or expect to obtain CCT within 6 months.
* Work 10 sessions per week with 20% non-clinical (SPA) time within the job plan.
Requirements
* Clinical experience in Lymphoma and General Haematology.
* GMC registration on the specialist register or expected CCT within 6 months.
* Ability to work in a rural service setting and participate in multi-site clinics and on-call commitments.
Additional Information
Clinics at other hospital sites may be required; virtual clinics are an option. The role involves participation in MDTs and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across the health board.
