Are you a Maintenance engineer that really like variety in your role? Due to growth within the business we are looking for two maintenance engineers to join this privately owned manufacturing business in Dudley. With a range of machinery, the business manufactures some historical and bespoke items the products an processes are ally interesting.
Working as part of a small maintenance team of 5 there is a lot of variety onsite to get your teeth stuck into, this business really looks after their team, with the majority of the workforce having in excess of 10 years service, with the majority of the role being of a mechanical nature we are looking for either fitters who have some electrical skills or electrical engineers that enjoy mechanical work too!
The machinery onsite is diverse some of the equipment being over 80 years old, to more modern robotics too, working Monday – Friday 6am – 4pm this role give you a great work life balance too!
The role of a maintenance engineer;
Developing and implementing scheduled maintenance plans for all factory equipment. This includes inspecting machinery, lubricating parts, and replacing worn components to prevent breakdowns.
Responding to equipment malfunctions and breakdowns, diagnosing the issue, and carrying out repairs or arranging for replacements.
Identifying the root cause of equipment failures and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
Repairing or replacing faulty parts, motors, control devices, and other components to restore equipment functionality.
Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and any safety-related incidents.
Ensuring all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with health and safety regulations, and that equipment is safe to operate.
maintenance staff or contractors, ensuring work is completed to the required standards.
Helping with Managing stocks of spare parts and ordering specialist components as needed.
Communicating effectively with other departments, such as production and operations, to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions.
Skills and Qualifications for this Maintenance engineer role
Level 3 Engineering qualification – Either electrical or Mechanical
Ideally apprentice trained holding a City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ.
The ability to work as a team
Experience working in a heavy industrial environment would be advantageous.
The ability to be on call, this is shared between the 5 engineers and is very occasional.
The benefits of this Maintenance Engineers Role
Basic salary of £54,000 – Includes on call allowance
Monday – Thursday 6am-4pm Friday 6am – 3pm
Optional overtime on Saturdays 7am-11am – paid at time and a half
Weekly paid
Overtime 1.5x weekdays and Saturdays 2x on a Sunday
25 days holiday + Bank holidays
Pension, death in service along with more.
Call out’s paid at minimum of 4 hours 1.5x
