Our client in the Space sector are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for a 12 month contract which is likely to extend (the role will sit outside of IR35).
About the Role
This is a hybrid position, which will need you on-site for at least one week per month, ideally two or more.
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the design, analysis, and testing of next-generation nano-satellites. You’ll work hands-on in a fast-paced environment alongside electrical, software, and manufacturing teams.
Responsibilities
* Design spacecraft components, mechanisms, and assemblies using SolidWorks.
* Perform structural, thermal, and thermoelastic analyses (FEA).
* Develop test fixtures and ground support equipment.
* Support satellite assembly, environmental testing, and manufacturing.
* Conduct peer reviews, documentation, and production support.
Required Skills
* Excellent CAD and drafting skills (SolidWorks).
* Familiarity with FEA tools (Ansys, SolidWorks Simulation).
