Aylesford Medical Centre is an established and friendly practice located within the Royal British Legion Village in Aylesford, Kent. We are looking to recruit an adminsitrator on a zero hours contract to cover for staff leave and sickness.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to cover reception, secretarial and other administrative duties within the Surgery on an ad-hoc basis over a variety of days and hours. Full traning will be given.

Job responsibilities
Maintain and monitor the Practice appointment system.
Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments.
Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers' requests appropriately.
Signposting patients to the correct service.
Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies.
Code data on the clinical IT system.
Photocopy documentation as required.
Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patientinformation as required.
Input data on to patients healthcare records as necessary.
Direct requests for information i.e.SAR, insurance/solicitors letters andDVLA forms to the administrative team.
Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner.
Maintain a clean, tidy and effective work area at all times.
Monitor and maintain reception notice boards.
Support all clinical staff with general task requests.
Action incoming emails and correspondence as necessary.
Scan patient related documentation and attach scanned documents topatients healthcare records.
To support the management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they areprocessed accurately and efficiently.
To read, scan, code (training provided) and action all documentationcoming in to the Surgery in relation to patients and filing them on to patientrecords as per protocols.
Typing letters, reports and associated documentation as required.
Liaising with external agencies such as Hospitals and communityservices, ensuring referrals are processed efficiently.
Maintain an accurate referrals database.
Processing referrals using the electronic Referral System (ERS).
Person Specification
Experience
* Previous experience of working within a GP Surgery in a similar role.
* Experience of using EMIS, Doris and Docman.
* Flexible.
