Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a Maximo-related project within a leading UK utilities organisation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise asset management (EAM) systems, IBM Maximo, and utilities operations (water, gas, or energy). This role requires a hands-on project leader with proven experience managing full project lifecycles, vendor coordination, and stakeholder alignment in regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the end-to-end delivery of projects involving IBM Maximo implementation, upgrade, or integration within the utilities domain.
* Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
* Coordinate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors to ensure smooth delivery.
* Oversee project governance, change management, and risk mitigation activities.
* Act as the key liaison between IT, operations, and business users to ensure requirements are clearly captured and delivered.
* Manage project documentation, status reporting, and stakeholder communication.
* Ensure all project activities align with regulatory compliance and internal quality standards.
* Drive issue resolution, dependency management, and continuous improvement across project streams.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* 5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager in the utilities sector (water, energy, or gas).
* Demonstrated experience delivering projects involving IBM Maximo (implementation, upgrade, integration, or optimisation).
* Proven track record of managing end-to-end IT or business transformation projects in complex environments.
* Strong understanding of asset management, maintenance, and field operations within utilities.
* Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and reporting skills.
* Experience working with vendors, systems integrators, and internal technical teams.
* Solid grasp of project governance frameworks (Prince2, PMI, or Agile methodologies).
* Ability to work independently and ensure delivery under an Outside IR35 engagement.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience integrating Maximo with ERP, GIS, or field service management tools.
* Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and industry standards in utilities.
* Familiarity with cloud-hosted Maximo (Maximo Application Suite).
* Professional certifications such as Prince2, PMP, or AgilePM.
