The Business Advisor will play a key role in delivering high- quality business support across both the Go Succeed Programme and the wider portfolio of Ards Business Hub (ABH) business support services, including ABH Consulting.
The role is primarily responsible for Go Succeed operational delivery, while retaining the flexibility required to contribute, where capacity permits, to Ards Business Hub’s strategic goals, client engagement activities, partnership development, and overall visibility within the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
This position ensures high quality programme delivery while supporting the long-term growth and sustainability of Ards Business Hub.
Main Duties
Go Succeed Programme Delivery (Primary Focus)
The postholder will be responsible for delivering all core elements of the Go Succeed Engage and Foundation services, including:
* Deliver high quality business mentoring in line with Go Succeed methodology and required standards.
* Conduct diagnostics, benchmarking and action planning with clients, ensuring accurate assessment of needs.
* Prepare professional business plans, enterprise action plans and financial projections as required.
* Manage a monthly schedule of client engagements aligned to programme targets and budgets.
* Maintain full compliance with programme requirements, including CRM entries, documentation, and audit standards.
* Upload all required documentation to the Go Succeed CRM in a timely and accurate manner.
* Track client progression and implement early interventions, where required.
* Contribute to achieving programme KPIs, quality thresholds and reporting requirements.
* Identify risks to delivery and escalat…et to management promptly.
* Support the transition of Go Succeed clients into ABH Consulting or other ABH services where appropriate.
Ards Business Hub Business Support & Service Promotion
Although the role is dedicated to Go Succeed delivery, the postholder will also contribute to Ards Business Hub’s broader business support objectives by:
* Acting as an ambassador for Ards Business Hub in all external interactions.
* Supporting the promotion of Ards Business Hub’s services, events, and facilities to stakeholders, partners, and local businesses.
* Signposting clients to ABH Consulting and other relevant support pathways.
* Assisting the Chief Executive in identifying business needs, partnership opportunities, and funding prospects beneficial to the organisation.
* Contributing, where capacity allows, to research, development and improvement of business support programmes.
* Supporting Ards Business Hub’s presence and reputation within the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
This ensures that the role remains future‑proof and fully aligned with Ards Business Hub’s long‑term growth strategy.
Marketing, Events and Outreach Support
* Assist with the organisation and delivery of workshops, clinics, training sessions and stakeholder events.
* Support maintenance of the annual calendar of business support events.
* Gather client feedback and assist with engagement reporting.
* Help build and maintain strong relationships with key partner organisations and referral pathways.
Organisational Responsibilities
* Always represent Ards Business Hub professionally.
* Maintain high standards of administration, compliance and record keeping.
* Ensure GDPR, confidentiality and health and safety responsibilities are fully met.
* Participate in team meetings, training, and reflective practice sessions.
* Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by the Chief Executive consistent with the scope of this role.
* Degree level qualification or minimum 3 years’ experience supporting clients at various business stages.
* Experience preparing business plans and financial projections.
* Strong understanding of local business support landscape.
* Knowledge of challenges facing micro and small businesses.
* Strong digital competency (Microsoft Office packages and CRM systems).
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
* Ability to analyse and interpret business proposals from various perspectives e.g., finance, sales, marketing, process/operations, leadership and management.
* Ability to prioritise, organise and manage a busy and varied workload.
* High quality written communication skills.
* Self‑motivated, flexible and able to meet tight deadlines.
* Proven ability to work as part of a team.
* Full current Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
* Membership of the Institute of Business Consulting or other relevant professional body.
* Experience delivering Government funded programmes and initiatives.
* Experience of running or managing a business or social enterprise.
Hours of Work
This post is offered on a part‑time, fixed‑term basis, with the possibility of extending the contract for an additional 1 year, subject to funding.
The contracted hours are 22.5 hours per week, worked across 3 days per week.
The specific days of work will be agreed with the successful candidate prior to commencement, based on programme delivery requirements and organisational needs.
Flexibility may be required to accommodate occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends in line with client and programme demands. Hybrid working may be available.
£30,000 to £35,000 per annum, FTE.
