The Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is passionate about promoting good mental health and wellbeing. Our Specialist Perinatal Mental Health team provides a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to caring for women experiencing mental health difficulties during the perinatal period. The service received accreditation in January 2024. This is a county-wide service with a base currently in Truro; due to expansion, an additional base is needed in the east of the county. It is expected you will work in either the west or the east of the county with a base near your geographical work/home area.
The team consists of qualified and trainee nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, nursery nurses, a health visitor, psychologists, psychiatrist, administration, and peer support workers led by a service lead and supported by two deputies. The team works collaboratively to support recovery and improve bonds with baby in the crucial first 1001 days. This is a community-based role that requires travel to various locations throughout the county, including areas not easily accessible by public transport. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate how they will manage travel requirements.
The post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the effective provision of Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Services to an identified caseload. The core purpose is to deliver high quality, tailored interventions in perinatal mental health and attachment-based approaches to families and infants in Cornwall. The service aims to raise the profile and maintain high quality standards of mental health care for expectant and postnatal care across universal and specialist services. The post holder will assist the multidisciplinary team in meeting the needs of children and their families by undertaking delegated duties that support and enable family-centred care. The Nursery Nurse role involves visiting families in their homes or at other premises such as children\'s centres across the county.
