Position Overview We are seeking a Defense Technology & Industrial Policy Expert to provide strategic analysis on defense innovation, technology development, and industrial base policies. This part-time consulting role requires deep expertise in defense acquisition, emerging technologies, and the policy frameworks shaping military modernization and industrial competitiveness. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Analyze defense technology trends, including artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, hypersonics, directed energy, and quantum technologies Assess national defense industrial base policies, manufacturing capabilities, and supply chain resilience Monitor defense acquisition reform, procurement strategies, and public-private partnership models Evaluate technology transfer policies, foreign investment regulations, and indigenous capability development programs Provide strategic insights on defense R&D priorities, innovation ecosystems, and dual-use technology applications Track legislative developments affecting defense budgets, industrial policy, and technology competitiveness Advise clients on defense market opportunities, competitive positioning, and policy risk assessment ________________________________________ Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Defense Studies, Public Policy, International Relations, or related technical/policy field Expertise: Strong understanding of defense technologies, military systems, and defense acquisition processes Knowledge: Proficiency in defense industrial base analysis, technology readiness levels (TRLs), and innovation policy Analysis: Demonstrated ability to assess complex technical and policy issues affecting defense modernization Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client briefings and technical reporting ________________________________________ Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in relevant technical or policy field Professional experience in defense industry, Department of Defense, defense laboratories, or think tanks Knowledge of Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies and their defense applications Familiarity with defense standards (CMMC, NIST, etc.) and acquisition frameworks (PPBE, JCIDS) Experience with NATO standards, allied defense cooperation, or international armaments collaboration Published research on defense technology or industrial policy topics Security clearance (active or ability to obtain) Former senior government service (DoD, defense agencies, military leadership) ________________________________________ Compensation Structure $150-200/hour: Bachelor's degree with technical background and 5-10 years defense industry experience $200-300/hour: Advanced degree with 10-20 years experience, published research, or active security clearance $300-400/hour: Former senior DoD officials (SES, Flag/General Officers), defense laboratory directors, or nationally recognized experts with Top Secret/SCI clearance ________________________________________ Work Arrangement Schedule: Flexible part-time hours (project-based consulting) Location: Remote work available Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on qualifications, clearance level, and experience ________________________________________ How to Apply Contact: Robert@milibridge.com
