Post: Male Personal Assistant
to a young boy in the Ayr area.
Hours: 4 hours per week
Salary: Living wage rate – £12.60 per hour
Job Purpose: To work closely and flexibly with a young person who has Autism, ensuring he is supported to participate in various activities and continue developing his hobbies and interests.
Employer: You will be employed by the family, with payroll and employment support provided by a relevant organization.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Supporting the young person to engage in community activities such as going to the cinema, coffee shops, using public transport, swimming, and other social activities. When he’s having a bad day, spend time at home engaging in games, arts, crafts, baking, or puzzles, guided by his parents.
Training: Training in ASD and moving assistance will be provided. No personal care required.

* Relevant qualifications preferred.
* Understanding of empowering support and social inclusion.
* Effective communication and listening skills.
* Good organizational skills.
* Appreciation of family carers' roles.
* Knowledge of person-centered practices.
* Computer literacy.
* Experience supporting individuals with ASD and non-verbal communication.
