Infrastructure Engineer

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver BAU support and maintenance across customer environments.
* Contribute to service improvement initiatives alongside other engineers and Technical Leads.
* Assist with solution development based on designs and documentation provided by Technical Leads, Architects, and Delivery Managers.
* Actively maintain and work towards technical certifications in relevant Microsoft products.
* Participate in the on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support.
* Follow change control processes and ensure all work is carried out to a high standard.
* Note: Responsibilities are not exhaustive the role holder may be asked to take on other reasonable duties as required.

* Strong problem-solving ability and logical approach to troubleshooting.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
* Strong customer service focus and ability to build positive working relationships.
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
* Awareness of the commercial impact of technical decisions.
* Previous experience in a managed service or commercial IT environment.
* Familiarity with working under formal change control.
Technical Skills
* Windows Server (including Active Directory Domain Services, DNS, Group Policy, DFS, DHCP)
* Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) - AZ-900 required, AZ-104 desirable other Microsoft certifications a bonus.
* Microsoft 365 administration.
* PKI, Exchange, and related Microsoft infrastructure components.
* Exposure to scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Puppet, Docker, or equivalent).
* Experience with management and operational tooling such as anti-virus, backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring solutions.
Bonus skills:
* Linux administration.
* Networking fundamentals (routing, switching, firewalls).
* Supporting bespoke applications and customer-specific services.
* Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
* Experience with Kubernetes.
* Experience with virtualisation platforms such as Hyper-V, VMware, or vCloud, including administration and troubleshooting.
Additional Requirements:
Successful candidates will be required to undergo NPPV3 and SC background checks as part of the role. These are completed after starting employment.
