Job Description:
As an Experienced Design Engineer at Relinea, you will play a pivotal role in our engineering team, leading the development of detailed technical drawings and plans for complex GRP products and projects. Leveraging your expertise in CAD software and engineering principles, you will guide the draughting process, mentor junior draughtsmen, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the creation of comprehensive 2D and 3D drawings, schematics, and blueprints using CAD software, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
* Provide technical leadership and guidance to draughting team members, overseeing their work, providing feedback, and fostering their professional development.
* Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to conceptualise, refine, and optimise GRP product designs, balancing functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
* Conduct thorough reviews and revisions of drawings, addressing any design discrepancies, modifications, or enhancements to meet project requirements and quality standards.
* Manage the development of production drawings, bills of materials, and other technical documentation, facilitating smooth communication and coordination between design, production, and other departments.
* Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in draughting and engineering design, proactively integrating new tools and methodologies to improve efficiency and quality.
Requirements:
* 3rd level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
* 5+ years experience.
* Extensive experience as a draughtsman or CAD technician, with a demonstrated track record of leading complex projects and delivering high-quality drawings in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools, with advanced skills in 3D modelling, parametric design, and drafting techniques.
* Strong leadership and mentorship abilities, with proven experience in guiding and developing junior team members to achieve their full potential.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions and driving continuous improvement.
* Knowledge of fabrication processes, and industry-specific requirements is highly desirable. With experience in the steel sector.
