Infrastructure Research Engineer
A fantastic opportunity for a driven Infrastructure Engineer to join a global technology company, working at their "Systems Infrastructure Research Lab" in Edinburgh, Scotland.
As an engineer in the SIR Lab, you will collaborate with leading scientists, tackle cutting-edge research problems in systems, foster influence in academia and industry through technological innovations, and cultivate partnerships with local and global research teams.
You will work alongside a team that bridges cutting-edge systems research and practical engineering environments, facilitating the translation of breakthroughs into production.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Contribute to the research and development team's exploration of emerging technologies and systems.
2. Engage in team projects to conduct system design, analysis, and prototype development.
3. Participate in selecting research problems, designing solutions, analyzing results, and building prototypes to demonstrate technology advantages and challenges in data center and cloud applications.
4. Design, implement, and evaluate key technologies and algorithms.
5. Engage with academia, industry, and open-source communities to influence and contribute to technological advancements.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
2. Comfort with research methodology.
3. Experience with system design and implementation.
4. Deep understanding of operating systems, distributed systems, and/or cloud computing.
5. Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Go, Python, etc.
6. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
