Location: Hybrid, with a requirement to attend occasional in‑person team meetings and training in our Taunton office

Job type: Permanent, part‑time (18 hrs a week, working pattern must include Monday)

Join our Helix team and build a media research career with TRP Research. We are looking for people to join us who are passionate about TV, from what shows are being televised to when, and what is happening in the wider industry.


THE ROLE

You will be working with television schedules, recordings, and industry sources to identify content. You’ll become an expert in using these resources to track details of television content and events, tracking live events and new releases from first commission to repeat, and from one streaming platform to another, helping both external clients and internal teams generate richer analysis of viewership. You’ll have regular deadlines on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis that reflect the industry’s need for the rich, accurate data you’ll help produce.


RESPONSIBILITIES

* Logging and coding Live Sport Events, identifying live action viewing and event details
* Coding content attributes, such as release date, series and episode number programmes, using established sources, such as schedules, in‑house programme guides, and previous coding
* Assigning genres and brand identification for coded content
* Tracking major media events such as premieres or key sporting events that could alter viewing patterns
* Working on ad‑hoc projects like classification of YouTube content or tracking adverts across platforms
* Answering queries from data users


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* Fantastic attention to detail, particularly for spotting irregularities in data
* Demonstrated producing accurate work in time‑pressed environments
* Reasonable typing speed (touch typing would be an advantage)
* Interest in media, television and content
* Experience of using the internet for research
* Excellent time management skills and ability to make quick logical decisions, particularly in relation to balancing and prioritising tasks
* Ability to work to tight deadlines in a calm manner
* Good working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft packages such as Outlook
* GCSE English Language and Maths, or equivalent
