Job Role
SENDCo – 0.6 role (3 days per week, 19.5 hours per week) – Permanent. Salary: Teachers’ Pay Scale +TLR2. Location: Romiley Primary School (Sandy Lane, Romiley, Stockport SK6 4NE). Start date: 8 June 2026.
Responsibilities
* Assist the head teacher and governors with the strategic development of SEND policy and provision throughout the school.
* Contribute to whole‑school strategic planning as part of the Senior Leadership Team.
* Lead, motivate and inspire others to achieve excellence in SEND provision.
* Coach and develop teachers in exemplary classroom practice for SEND learners.
* Identify children’s needs and make a significant impact on the progress of all pupils.
* Develop inclusive practice and lead the implementation of the SEND Code of Practice.
* Provide strategic leadership and development of SEND across the school.
* Promote resilience, positivity and support in line with the school’s values.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Highly skilled and experienced teacher with exemplary classroom practice.
* Extensive experience within SEND and inclusion roles.
* Strong track record in identifying children’s needs and improving pupil progress.
* Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
* Passion for high‑quality inclusive education and ability to lead strategically.
* Committed to the school's values of promoting resilience, positivity and support.
* Has or is actively working towards the National SENCO Award or NPQ SENCo qualification.
* Must be able to provide proof of Right to Work in the UK if invited to interview.
* Subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and satisfactory references from two previous employers.
