Bus/PSV Mechanic/Electrician
1. Based at our Guildford depot, located at Peasmarsh
2. Pay rate of circa £45k per annum
3. 40hrs per week, rolling shifts including some weekends.

We’re looking for a proactive and skilled Bus/PSV Mechanic/Electrician to join our friendly team at Stagecoach Guildford. Whether you’re from a truck, HGV, automotive, plant, or rail background, this is your chance to work on a modern and varied fleet, including electric vehicles, while helping to train the next generation of engineers.
What you’ll be doing:
4. Carry out electrical diagnostics, fault finding, and repairs on PSV vehicles
5. Maintain and repair electrical systems including lighting, wiring, batteries, and control systems
6. Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
7. Maintaining and repairing our fleet of buses to DVSA and Stagecoach safety standards
8. Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
9. Complete job cards, maintenance records, and compliance documentation accurately
10. Assist in breakdown response and on-road repairs when required
11. Collaborate with the wider engineering team to meet fleet availability targets
12. Supporting apprentices by sharing your knowledge and experience
What we’re looking for:
13. A safety-first attitude and strong attention to detail
14. A team player with good communication skills
15. Previous experience working on buses or large passenger vehicles (desirable)
16. Proven experience as an electrician, ideally within PSV, HGV, or automotive environments
17. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
18. Knowledge of modern vehicle electrical systems
19. Relevant qualifications in vehicle maintenance or electrical engineering (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
20. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
21. Flexible approach to working shifts, including weekends
22. Full UK driving licence (PCV licence desirable but not essential)
