Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated team. We have a leadership team of six; our four Assistant Principals (3.6 FTE) oversee all provision and pastoral aspects. This role will focus on supporting curriculum planning for our three Year 7/8 classes and teaching Years 5/6/7. You will collaborate with subject leaders, learning support staff, and senior leadership to develop, monitor, deliver, and evaluate our curriculum. Additionally, you will work closely with our four Phase Leaders responsible for each key stage.
You should embrace coaching approaches, be creative, flexible, non-judgmental, accepting, and resilient. High-quality analysis and problem-solving skills are essential.
Our teachers work with timetabled groups, supported by an HLTA and at least one TA, to deliver both academic and wellbeing curricula. Classes typically have nine students. The Academy is well-staffed and committed to professional development, allowing roles to be tailored to individual strengths and interests.
All staff are experienced classroom practitioners with demonstrable experience working with children and young people with social, emotional, or autism-related needs, including challenging behaviors and complex needs. They are committed to implementing the national curriculum and strategies to raise achievement.
As a class teacher, you will be involved in strategic planning and the daily operation of your class team and learners. We foster a close-knit, committed staff team. Staff meetings are held every Monday and Tuesday after school, with rotation on Wednesdays for school-wide and phase-specific meetings.
