Contracts Officer Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Contracts Officer to join our team. This role will primarily be based at our Staverton site, with occasional travel to support our other sites in Gloucestershire. Job Purpose: The Contracts Officer is responsible for the negotiation and management of contracts with support from the wider contracts team, supporting the compliance team, compiling letters and proposals, and contract/order administration within the Civil and Military aerospace market. Main responsibilities: Manage and support the negotiation of a broad range of contractual agreements, including non-disclosure agreements, supply and aftermarket agreements, supporting the novation of contracts assumed under licenses and acquisitions, ensuring all relevant benefits and obligations are understood within the business. Assist the procurement function in the development of new contracts for the procurement of material within supply chain. Customer point of contact for contractual matters, championing the customer’s needs and coordinating responses with internal stakeholders to ensure customer expectations are met whilst actively protecting the company’s interests. Supporting the pricing and sales teams in the preparation of proposals, including responses to customers Terms and Conditions (T&Cs). Support the Compliance Team to ensure stakeholders are operating in accordance with applicable export compliance regulations and company policies related to business ethics and third party vetting. Awareness of current statutory legislation and regulations affecting contract development and administration. Continually review and improve processes to ensure we continue to operate efficiently as a team. Creating and updating registers to track all correspondence and monitor active projects. Generating charts using data from the tracker to visually communicate the progress of the project to stakeholders. Managing customer engagement to questionnaires received by all UK sites, coordinating with relevant departments, vetting responses from stakeholders and ensuring questionnaires are accurate and complete. Be a main point of contact for a large Military customer with responsibilities that include: review and respond to each solicitation and contract award received, create compliance matrices, provide proposals responses, and negotiate terms ensuring FARS/DFARs compliance. Providing updates to the contract lifecycle management database, creating reports when required and providing training for colleagues on the software platform. Reviewing and approving orders on CRM. Ensuring orders are approved with appropriate T&Cs and correct details have been uploaded including Incoterms. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience in a Contracts or Commercial or role. Understanding and experience working with different contractual agreements, such as non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), production and aftermarket agreements. Experience of hybrid working, with a desire to be based predominantly at the workplace. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including a professional, confident and "can do" attitude. Able to respond positively to changing situations/priorities to achieve Company objectives. Awareness and experience of bids and proposals processes and procedures. Confident at working with any stakeholder within the business, being able to build and maintain successful relationships. Understanding of the UK and US defence aerospace markets including being able to identify and advise the business of the contractual requirements. Ability to create and maintain accurate and up-to-date records that can be utilised by all relevant individuals within the business.
