Description and requirements

We are looking for a Senior Buyer to join our Procurement team in Wolverhampton.
What you'll do:
1. To seek sustainable methods of cost reduction and value generation for materials and plant supplied to Skanska.
2. To introduce and lead service level agreements with suppliers and internal departments.
3. To develop and implement strategic procedural and practical changes to increase productivity and performance, including the leading of KPI’s with the supply chain.
4. To comply with Skanska Procedures and policy on procurement including participation in Audits (Internal/External).
5. Tenders – Management of all associated documentation for major materials and plant procurement exercises.
6. Review of Sub-Contract and Material quotations and subsequent recommendations
7. Negotiation with suppliers and raising of orders ensuring relevant technical and commercial clauses are included.
What you'll bring to the role:
8. Experience of procurement in construction industry.
9. Technical knowledge of relevant product markets
10. Working knowledge of NEC
11. Experience of negotiating with suppliers and sub-contractors.
12. Experience of ERP systems
13. Familiarity with qualitative procurement methods.
