Role Overview
To work as part of the Cardio‑Respiratory and Vascular diagnostics team, supporting the delivery of high quality, safe and patient‑focused care, carrying out clinical duties at a highly specialist level to meet the needs of the Service and its patients.
Key Responsibilities
* Independently perform high quality transthoracic echocardiography to standards outlined by the British Society of Echocardiography on adult patients with a broad spectrum of pathologies (including oncology, stroke and high‑risk inpatients in intensive care). This is performed in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
* Interpret and generate reports for investigations performed, ensuring that results requiring urgent medical attention are escalated and actioned accordingly.
* Support advanced imaging techniques such as contrast and bubble studies.
* Actively support the development and expansion of physiologist‑led clinics.
Qualifications & Experience
* Band 7 echocardiographer.
* Experience of bubble and contrast echo and valve surveillance clinics desirable but not essential.
Working Hours & Patterns
The service will run 08:00 – 20:00, 7 days a week. Hours will be worked on a shift pattern to include weekend and evenings. Part‑time applicants are welcome to apply but will be expected to participate in evening and weekend duties.
