Laboratory Technician Level 3 Apprentice
The Laboratory Technician Level 3 Apprentice supports the quality and technical performance of materials through routine sampling, testing, and analysis of aggregates, sands, raw materials, and bituminous products. The role includes monitoring results to identify issues, reporting non-conformities, supporting complaint investigations, maintaining accurate laboratory records, ensuring equipment is calibrated, and keeping the laboratory well maintained, while working towards a recognised apprenticeship standard.
Responsibilities
* Sampling and testing of aggregate, sand, incoming raw materials and bituminous materials and bitumen at the required frequency.
* Monitoring analysis and trends following material and finished product testing, taking preventative action to maintain quality and technical performance.
* Reporting all instances of product, test rate failure and non-conformities to technical management.
* Providing technical advice and support to other internal departments and to customers within set guidelines.
* Inputting data and operating the laboratory computer database system.
* Carrying out preliminary complaint investigations.
* Ensuring the laboratory environment and test equipment are well maintained and calibrated.
