This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to join a well-established and successful Mathematics team at a highly regarded sixth form college in the Cotswolds. Teachers at Cirencester College enjoy the same number of days’ holiday as teachers in secondary schools. At Cirencester College, we deliver A level Maths, A level Further Maths, Level 3 Core Maths, GCSE Higher and Foundation Maths, and Functional Skills at level 1. We are introducing A level Statistics, so we particularly encourage applications from candidates with a background in stats. We also encourage all teachers keen to focus on teaching 16-18 year-olds to apply, including secondary school teachers with no A level teaching experience.
The post holder will be expected to:
1. Ensure students understand the content of all mathematical techniques on the syllabus by habitually delivering good lessons
2. Mark assessments such as tests, mock exams and homework assignments accurately and in a timely fashion
3. Closely monitor students’ progress and alert relevant parties to emerging issues
4. Demonstrate excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
5. Hold a good honours degree (or equivalent) in a related subject
6. Hold a PGCE or other level 4 teaching qualification, or demonstrate a commitment to obtain an equivalent qualification on the job
