Role overview: A First Line Support Technician is responsible for helping to ensure the business IT operations are running smoothly and providing an excellent level of service and support to users of IT services. Duties include: Provide First Line IT support to the company’s staff Triaging IT helpdesk tickets Diagnose and resolve technical issues as reported by users and automated systems, escalating to other IT team members where necessary Setting up and installing PCs and other equipment using automation tools where relevant Fault-finding to laptops and desktops and software Ensuring information in the IT Helpdesk system is accurate and up to date Assisting in audits Maintain equipment asset list for all IT equipment Administration of the user lifecycle from new starter to leaver/mover process as per HR procedure Provide additional duties as required by the IT Support Team Leader including small to medium-sized IT projects Requirements for the role Industry/technical knowledge, qualifications and experience Active Directory experience Attention to detail and accurate record keeping skills Perform basic administrative support duties as required to meet specific operational objectives Occasional out of hours work while rare may be required 12 months of relevant experience preferable. Excellent personal skills required to help users of systems and to convey information to both technical and non-technical people within the business Encourages the sharing of knowledge, both face to face and through written documentation Essential Technologies: These technologies form the bulk of those used day-to-day, so knowledge and experience is vital Microsoft Windows Server (2016 onwards) Active Directory / Group Policy Microsoft Windows 10/11 Microsoft Office Office 365 / Exchange Networking / IP Layers PC build / configuration / repair Parmenion is a solo enhanced firm regulated under the Financial Conduct Authority.
