Veterinary Surgeon - Independent Small Animal Practice - Maldon, Essex

Apply Save Set in a beautiful part of Essex near the Heybridge Basin, the practice has been proudly serving the local community for over a decade. It offers a warm, supportive working environment where collaboration and clinical freedom are genuinely encouraged. You'll be part of a highly capable team of Vets, Nurses, and support staff who are committed to delivering the best care to their patients - and enjoy a great social atmosphere outside of work too.
The practice is fully equipped with in-house lab facilities, digital x-ray, ultrasound, and multiparameter monitoring. A visiting surgery certificate holder supports with orthopaedics and more advanced procedures, allowing the team to handle a wide variety of cases.
The Role:
1. Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon - 3 to 4 days per week (9am-7pm)
2. 1 in 4 weekend rota, no out-of-hours or late nights
3. Varied caseload including soft tissue, emergency, and routine surgery
4. Clinical freedom to manage cases your way, with peer support when needed
5. Opportunity for progression into a Senior or Clinical Lead position
What We're Looking For:
6. Minimum 3-4 years' experience in UK small animal practice
7. Confident in consultations, general surgery, and case management
8. A strong communicator who thrives in a team environment
9. Interest in developing clinical or leadership skills further

10. Salary up to £100,000 (depending on experience, FTE)
11. No out-of-hours and minimal bank holiday work
