Thank you for your interest in joining Selby Educational Trust (SET) as a Governance Professional. This is an exciting time to become part of our Trust as we continue to grow and strengthen our impact across the communities we serve. At SET, our vision is clear: “Shaping futures through education, giving everyone in the SET family the opportunity to flourish and thrive, to develop their lives and transform the communities that they serve.” Our values underpin everything we do:

• Children at the heart of every decision

• A culture which nurtures hope, aspiration and respect

• Working together and supporting each other

• Valuing differences

• Continually driving improvement and understanding

• A sustainable future

As a Governance Professional, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that these values are lived out through strong, transparent governance. Your work will help us maintain the highest standards of accountability and integrity, ensuring that every decision we make is in the best interests of our children and communities.

This role is central to our strategic theme of “SET on Collaboration”, which includes a commitment to strong governance at all levels. You will support the Trust Board and local governing bodies to operate effectively, enabling us to deliver on our ambitious goals for educational excellence, safeguarding, sustainability, and innovation.

We are looking for someone who shares our belief in partnership, continuous improvement, and making a positive difference. If you are passionate about governance and want to contribute to shaping the future of education in our region, we would be delighted to hear from you. Together, we can ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive. The post is subject to a 6 month probationary period.

Selby Educational Trust is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
