C&I Engineer Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 (based on experience) Permanent Opportunity Location: Capenhurst, Chester Our client, a leading nuclear technology business, are actively seeking C&I Engineers to join their business. In this role, you will support the delivery of Control & Instrumentation (C&I) design solutions for projects and work packages related to Core Process Technology (CPT). You will ensure deliverables align with the customers functional requirements and agreed project standards and schedules. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a technically advanced engineering environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and international suppliers. Key Responsibilities Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance Produce detailed technical specifications, including: Develop control system design specifications and simulation programs Generate hardware specifications for control systems Work closely with subcontractors, including reviewing and approving detailed design drawings Review suppliers test specifications and attend factory acceptance tests Collaborate with section engineers and specialists to ensure successful delivery of engineering requirements Present technical information during design and technical reviews Conduct customer-facing presentations, demonstrations of equipment, or software Analyse plant process, commissioning, and test data to identify performance improvements Develop and maintain core design standards for control system engineering Contribute to project proposals, including cost estimates and schedules Manage project deliverables and provide status reporting to stakeholders Travel to European suppliers and ETC/customer sites when required Equipment functional specifications Control system logic specifications Qualifications & Experience Essential Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline Experience specifying or designing control systems within process industries Ability to produce high-quality technical specifications and reports Experience managing subcontractors and reviewing design deliverables Knowledge of: PLC hardware (I/O capability, communications networks, power requirements) Control cabinet design Instrumentation design (measurement techniques, ranges, accuracy, EMC) PLC programming standards SCADA design, configuration, and alarm management Experience with equipment testing and validation Strong interpersonal skills and computer literacy Desirable Familiarity with compliance standards such as UKCA, CE, and UL Experience working in multinational engineering organisations Ability to speak French or German in addition to English Benefits The company offers a competitive salary and attractive benefits package, including: Company performance bonus 25 days annual leave (rising to 28 days after 6 years service) Individual Private Healthcare.
