As a result of internal progression, we have 2 exciting opportunities within our R&D Team to work as Development Engineers supporting either NPI or Base Business. Corin is a growing global orthopaedic innovation business, aiming to revolutionize the field by integrating advanced robotic and AI technologies (Apollo, OMNIBotics, and OPS) for planning, implementation, and continuous learning, combined with clinically proven hip and knee implants.

The main purpose of the NPI Product Design Engineer (PDE) is to design medical implants and instrumentation for all Corin Group products, ensuring compliance with Corin’s SOPs, Q-Pulse, and quality standards (ISO13485 QMS, GMP, FDA21 CFR Part 820). The Base Business Development Engineer focuses on post-NPI sustainment and development of existing products, including design optimization and product maintenance.

The key responsibilities include:

For the NPI Product Design Engineer:

* Design of medical and mechanical devices, preferably orthopaedic implants and instrumentation; generate concept and detailed designs using CAD, FEA, and PLM software; participate in brainstorming and problem-solving.
* Create comprehensive design packages to facilitate transfer to production, supporting process and inspection documentation, manufacturing drawings, and related documentation.
* Maintain design control, risk management documentation, and technical reports per internal procedures and quality standards.
* Support Bioengineers with biomechanical expertise.
* Coordinate with Manufacturing, Production Engineering, Quality, and Regulatory teams to ensure effective device introduction and compliance.
* Manage design issues through root cause analysis and stakeholder collaboration.
* Lead and contribute to design projects and CAPA initiatives.
* Support maintenance and improvement of existing implant and instrument systems in line with SOPs and best practices.

For Base Business:

* Create design documentation compliant with SOPs and procedures.
* Perform structural calculations, tolerance analysis, and CAD assessments.
* Validate and verify development activities.
* Maintain design documentation for implants and instruments.
* Develop and update CAD drawings and models for design and manufacturing.
* Manage specific design projects within budgets and timelines.
* Review and update DHF and risk management documentation.
* Provide design and process support to internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
* Produce test protocols and reports for performance testing.
* Contribute to the development of new products following SOPs and best practices.
* Ensure compliance with QMS, GMP, FDA, and MDR requirements.
* Support post-market activities, including complaints, root cause analysis, and defect resolution.
* Assist with regulatory submissions and audits.

Skills and Experience:

* Graduate or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Product Design, or related field.
* Proficient in CAD, preferably Siemens NX or Solid Edge.
* Understanding of orthopaedic or highly regulated environments.
* Strong collaboration skills with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
* High computer literacy and organizational skills.
* Ability to make informed decisions and work independently.
* Self-motivated attitude.
