Civils Assistant
Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 P/A
Location: UK-wide - Gravesend (Working away required)
Hours: Monday – Friday / 5am / 6am starts on a 50-hour contract.
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Civil Assistant to support the Civil Supervisor and wider site team in delivering civil engineering works across infrastructure and utilities projects. This is a hands-on, site-based role involving a variety of groundworks activities and requires flexibility to work away from home.
We value your expertise, and in return, we offer a competitive salary of up to £32,000 per annum.
Key responsibilities:
Assist the Civil Supervisor with day-to-day site activities
Carry out civil works including trenching, ducting, backfilling, and reinstatement
Support safe working practices in line with RAMS and site instructions
Prepare work areas, materials, and tools as required
Operate plant and equipment where trained and authorised
Maintain good housekeeping standards on site
Essential Qualification & Requirements:
CSCS card (minimum requirement)
NRSWA (Street Works) – preferred / essential depending on role level
NPORS certification for relevant plant and machinery (or willingness to obtain)
NVQ Level 2 in Groundworks (or working towards)
Previous experience in groundworks, civils, or utilities environments
Good understanding of health & safety on construction sites
Full UK driving licence
Willingness to work away from home (essential)
