Featured Lecturer in Construction & Built Environment Job details Posted 30 October 2025 Salary £29,565.33 - £43,562.56 per anuum LocationMiddlesbrough Job type Permanent Contract Middlesbrough College, Lecturer Reference004083 Expiry 17 November 2025 Job Advert Job Title: Lecturer in Construction & Built Environment Location: Middlesbrough College Main Campus, TS2 1AD Department : Construction Reporting to : Curriculum Team Leader Salary: Lecturer Scale from pts 5-16, £29,565 - £43,562 per annum Annual Leave: 45 days per annum plus bank holidays Contractual hours : 37 hours per week Teaching hours: 864 hours per annum Basis: Full-time, Permanent Pension: Teachers' Pension Scheme The role To plan and deliver a diverse and challenging curriculum that equips learners with the essential skills, knowledge, and behaviours, and attitudes for success in learning, life and work. You will be responsible for teaching across a range of Construction and Built Environment subjects, including Civil Engineering, Design Surveying, and Planning, within T Levels, BTEC (Apprenticeships), and HNC Construction Management for England programmes. The role involves overseeing in-year delivery, learner progress, and achievement across all associated modules. The successful candidate will liaise with Awarding Organisation EQAs, coordinate validation visits, and present learner portfolios. Experience in Higher Education and T Level qualifications, along with expertise in assessment and internal quality assurance (IQA) procedures, is essential. What You’ll Be Doing As a Lecturer in Construction & Built Environment, you will: Plan and deliver engaging inclusive lessons tailored to individual learner needs. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student development. Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to support learner progress. Design and implement effective assessment strategies. Participate in internal verification and Awarding Body visits. Maintain accurate records. Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health and safety across all activities. Participate in curriculum development, team meetings, and college-wide events. What We’re Looking For We seek candidates who: Are experienced qualified Teachers of Civil Engineering/Design, Surveying and Planning and Construction and the Built Environment with Cert Ed and Assessors Award. Hold a minimum of a Level 5/6 in Civil Engineering/Design, Surveying and Planning Engineering subjects. GCSEs at Grade C / Level 4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent. Current knowledge and / or experience of teaching in one or more fields of Construction and the Built Environment at L3/ HNC L4/ HND L5 or above. What’s in it for you?
