Position Overview
The Mechanical Engineer will design mechanical and electromechanical assemblies used in high-precision CNC grinding and turning machines and support automation integration for those systems.
This role involves full machine design, detailed component development, and collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
15. Design mechanical systems and assemblies for precision CNC grinding and turning machines
16. Create 3D CAD models, layouts, and detailed drawings for fabricated, machined, and sheet-metal components
17. Develop mechanical and electromechanical assemblies based on project requirements
18. Perform interference checks and simulations using 3D CAD software
19. Evaluate mechanical systems using principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, and fluid systems
20. Support integration of automation systems including pneumatics and hydraulics
21. Provide technical support to customers, vendors, and internal sales teams
22. Maintain engineering documentation including BOMs, ECO/ECN processes, and design revisions
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
23. 5+ years of experience designing mechanical or electromechanical assemblies for industrial machinery
24. Experience with machine tools, automation equipment, or industrial machinery strongly preferred
25. Strong proficiency with 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
Technical Knowledge
26. Design experience with castings, weldments, and precision machined components
27. Sheet metal design experience
28. Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
29. Familiarity with ECO / ECN design change processes
30. Experience working in PDM vault environments
31. Experience maintaining BOMs in ERP systems
