I am supporting a well established organisation within the public/regulated sector who are looking for a Data Protection Coordinator to join their Legal &pliance function. You’ll play a key role in helping the organisation staypliant with GDPR and the Data Protection Act — with a strong focus on managing and coordinating Subject Access Requests (SARs).
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to build on their data protection experience, work closely with an expert DPO, and develop their skills in a supportive, collaborative team. What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be a central point of coordination for data protection activity across the organisation, including:
1. Handling and coordinating Data Subject Rights requests — collecting data, conducting searches, redacting information, preparing disclosure packs, and ensuring everything is sent securely.
2. Triaging iing queries via email and phone with professionalism and accuracy.
3. Logging and maintaining meticulous records around incidents, rights requests and data sources.
4. Supporting the upkeep of the Registers of Processing Activities (RoPA).
5. Managing your workload effectively, flagging risks, and ensuring deadlines are met.
6. Following established processes around incident handling and breach management.
7. Applying GDPR/DPA regulations confidently and consistently.
8. Providing general administrative and organisational support to the Data Protection team.
9. Collaborating with colleagues across different departments to gather information and respond to requests.
What My Client Is Looking ForYou don’t need to be a seasoned Data Protection Officer — but you do need to bring:
Essential Experience in a busy administrative, coordination orpliance role
Strong written and verbalmunication skills
Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
Solid understanding of data protection principles (GDPR/DPA)
Confident working across teams to gather information
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Teams Hands-on SAR experience (reviewing, searching, redacting, preparing responses)
Experience using OneTrust and/or Microsoft eDiscovery tools
