The Opportunity
NEOS Engineering Recruitment are working with a leading earthworks contractor delivering major UK infrastructure projects.
They're looking for a Service Manager to take full ownership of plant maintenance, compliance, and fleet performance across a large earthmoving fleet.
This is a business-critical role, keeping machines running and projects moving.
The Role
* Drive plant availability through PPM and maintenance strategies
* Balance reactive vs preventative maintenance
* Lead and manage engineers, fitters, and inspectors
* Ensure compliance with PUWER, LOLER, DVSA & OEM standards
* Control budgets, parts spend, and lifecycle costs
* Manage OEMs, suppliers, and service providers
* Report on uptime, reliability, and performance
* You’ll sit between plant, ops, and commercial - making sure everything works.
The Candidate
* Background in heavy plant / earthmoving equipment
* Experience as a Service Manager, Workshop Manager, or similar
* Strong knowledge of maintenance strategies & compliance
* Proven team leadership across workshop & field
* Commercially aware - costs, budgets, lifecycle
* Comfortable with CMMS systems and reporting
