Job Overview
We are a highly successful integrated therapy service with a pooled budget across health and social care, based in East Sussex and employed by KCHFT. The role is specifically focused on working with children and young people with complex needs.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist occupational therapy assessments to inform housing and equipment adaptations for children and young people up to 18 years old.
* Review and assess specialist home equipment prescribed under the Disabled Facilities Grant.
* Collaborate closely with the complex needs integrated team, including Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, School Nursing and Integrated Therapy Assistants, as well as key partner agencies.
* Within six months, work in a special school to develop competencies in postural management and statutory provision.
* Participate in ongoing training, supervision and shadowing opportunities to expand scope of practice.
Qualifications & Requirements
* B5 Occupational Therapist with experience in home adaptations, either prior to training or post‑qualification.
* Demonstrated interest in working with children and young people with complex needs.
* Must hold a full UK driving licence; driving is essential to the role.
* Resilient, initiative‑taking and solution‑focused, with a willingness to embrace new ways of working.
* Knowledge of manual handling and postural management is an advantage.
