Join our clients dedicated Adult Social Care Income and Debt Collections team and help ensure vital services are funded through effective and compassionate collections.\n\n🔍 About the Role\n\nAs an Adult Social Care Collections Officer, you'll manage a caseload of customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of care fees while supporting individuals with sensitivity and professionalism. You'll work closely with internal teams, legal services, and external stakeholders to resolve complex cases and maintain accurate financial records.\n\nAdult Social Care Collections Officer (Debt Recovery Officer)\nPublic Sector - Local Authority \nFull Time - Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week\nTemporary Role - 3 months with likely extension\n£20.31 per hour PAYE / £26.91 per hour Umbrella\nHybrid Working - 2 days in office (Ealing), 3 days at home\nIT Equipment Provided\nASAP Start\n\n🧠 What You'll Bring\n\nStrong knowledge of debt recovery legislation, welfare benefits, and social care charging policies.\nExperience using financial IT systems to manage and track payments.\nExcellent communication skills to liaise with customers, legal representatives, and partner agencies.\nAbility to manage a high-volume workload with accuracy and attention to detail.\nA proactive, team-oriented approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.\n\n💼 Key Responsibilities\n\nIssue invoices, recovery notices, and enforcement documents.\nSet up and monitor payment arrangements, promoting Direct Debit as the preferred method.\nIdentify and support vulnerable customers in line with safeguarding procedures.\nPrepare documentation for County and High Court proceedings.\nMaintain accurate records and contribute to performance targets.\n\n✅ Essential Requirements\n\nExperience in debt management and recovery.\nFamiliarity with Council Tax, Business Rates, and other local authority debts.\nCompetence in using computerised accounts systems.\nGCSE Maths or NVQ I in Finance/Administration (or equivalent experience).
