Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant – Specialist Provision Location: Peterlee Looking to start a career in SEN but not sure where to begin? A specialist setting in Peterlee is offering a full-time Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant role supporting pupils aged 5–14 with complex needs. This is an opportunity to learn on the job in a structured, supportive environment. Attitude and commitment are. The Pupils • All pupils have EHCPs • Needs include ASD, ADHD and SEMH • Some have experienced trauma • Literacy levels vary significantly Daily Routine • Morning check-ins and regulation support • 1:1 classroom assistance • Supporting literacy and numeracy • Supervised lunchtime engagement • End-of-day debriefs Staff remain until 4:00pm daily. Behaviour Systems Clear stepped consequences and restorative conversations are used consistently. Experience & Pay No prior school experience required.
