Basic Salary: £111,430 - £148,064 per annum pro rata + 5% on call availability supplement.

The Role
We are seeking Consultant General Paediatrician(s) to join the combined Child Health Department of NHS Borders.
There are multiple part-time posts available.
The post is based at the modern and well-equipped 284 bed Borders General Hospital with a major role in services for children in the community. There are established links with the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, in Edinburgh, with opportunities for joint working. We have close undergraduate and postgraduate links with the University of Edinburgh Medical School and excellent on-site library facilities.
The Hospital has implemented an innovative Paediatric Hospital at Night redesign and our first call resident cover is provided by experienced Paediatric and Neonatal Nurse Advanced Practitioners supported by consultants within a minimum recall time.
The hospital is located in a rural setting with excellent schools, abundant local amenities and good transport links to Edinburgh. Superb local leisure facilities plus good quality affordable housing, provide ideal opportunities for a high quality of life in this scenic part of the country. A relocation package up to full Inland Revenue limits is available for the successful candidate(s) if relocating their main residence to the local area.
In a new service development, NHS Borders will offer all newly appointed consultants executive coaching with a trained coach, intended to develop your own leadership style and effective decision making.
Candidates must hold MRCP or equivalent certificate eg MRCPH for current trainees and must also be fully registered with the General Medical Council on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of entry at interview date.
