Senior Technical Accountant (Ceded Reinsurance)

Ceded Reinsurance is a strategic function within AXA XL responsible for defining and implementing reinsurance strategies and managing treaties throughout their lifecycle. It is part of the AXA XL Risk Management division, with the Chief Risk Officer being a member of the AXA XL Leadership team.
The Ceded Re Operations team oversees the administration of all Treaty Reinsurance business within AXA XL. It comprises four key areas: Technical Operations, Technical Accounting, Data & Operations Reporting, and Central Operations.
This role is within the UK-based Ceded Reinsurance Technical Accounting team, primarily responsible for:
1. Managing settlement of Ceded Premiums and recovery of Ceded Recoveries (~USD 3bn annually);
2. Handling collaterals collection (~USD 9bn);
3. Overseeing BDX releases to reinsurers;
4. Performing credit control and aged debt management for treaty and facultative portfolios globally;
5. Managing collaterals for US entities, contributing to technical accounting processes, participating in transformation projects, and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
Additional responsibilities include:
1. Issuance and management of bordereaux;
2. Credit control and cash collection to minimize capital charges and avoid bad debts;
3. Maintaining relationships with brokers and reinsurers;
4. Regulatory and operational reporting;
5. Supporting audits and process improvements.
The ideal candidate will possess:
* A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field;
* Relevant experience in finance or reinsurance;
* Strong multitasking, research, and reconciliation skills;
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
