We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team within Vistry Bristol, at our Clifton office. As our Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will report to the Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor and will assist the commercial delivery of residential development schemes. This is a key role and the successful candidate will have worked in a similar level role for a main contractor or developer within the region. Responsibilities
 * Assist the commercial delivery of residential development schemes from procurement to the completion of sub-contract final accounts.
 * Assist with cost management for development and contracting projects.
 * Attend site pre-start meetings and assist with tender packages for sub-contract trades.
 * Receive tenders, analyse and compare levels, and issue sub-contract orders in line with Group Policy and Commercial Best Practice.
 * Liaise with Build Department on sub-contractors’ performance and compliance with order conditions.
 * Assist with sub-contract master documentation, budget and programme alignment, and forecast/reporting to meet business requirements.
 * Maintain site project administration using BMS and related processes (orders, variations, valuations, etc.).
 * Assist with materials valuation, variation invoices, retention releases, and final accounts.
 * Attend departmental meetings and communicate with colleagues across regions. Follow health and safety policies and procedures and raise any incidents as required.
Qualifications
 * HNC / Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management or equivalent.
 * A good understanding of building regulations and legal obligations.
 * Good knowledge of construction methods and materials.
 * Strong mathematical and IT ability, including good Microsoft Excel skills.
 * Ability to assess and analyse information and a good understanding of budget management.
 * Negotiating, networking, and excellent communications skills.
 * Able to work under pressure and accept feedback; good team-working skills and attention to detail.
 * Willing to work extra to meet deadlines as required by the business.
 * Desirable: HND or Degree in Construction; member of CIOB or working towards full membership; working towards CIPS; COINS systems management knowledge.
