Transport & Logistics Planner
GBP36,940 plus bonus
Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm
Working closely with existing transport subcontracts and bringing new subcontractors into the business; this role is pivotal in enabling the business to continue growing from strength to strength.
Collaborating with existing customers and subcontractors, and acquiring new ones.
Candidates should demonstrate an excellent background in European subcontracting and possess the knowledge of import/export procedures for goods.
As a Transport Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
* Ensuring loads are correctly exported/imported, including understanding necessary codes and paperwork
* Maintaining relationships with existing haulier partners and customers
* Regularly reviewing performance
* Onboarding new customers and subcontractors
* Resource allocation and load management to achieve optimal margins
* Scheduling deliveries on time, aligned with customer expectations
* Monitoring delivery performance and communicating delays to customers
* Working towards operational KPI targets
* Ensuring all information within TMS is accurate and up-to-date
Ideally, you will:
* Have a background in transport (essential)
* Possess strong relationships with existing subcontractors (desirable)
* Have strong verbal and written communication skills
* Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
* Have knowledge of export/import procedures
* Be able to build and develop relationships with customers and subcontractors
* Understand current market rates
* Have a good understanding of customs documentation and be focused and target-driven
