About the Role: Area Manager (Supply Chain) This is a high‑impact leadership role overseeing Proman’s Merseyside region. You will lead our Branch and Logistics teams, ensuring exceptional operational delivery. However, this role is equally — and intentionally — 50% commercial and sales‑focused. You will be accountable for winning new clients, driving profitable growth, and expanding Proman’s footprint across Merseyside. This includes building and managing a strong personal sales pipeline, leading by example in business development activity, and supporting your teams to maximise revenue from existing clients. Key Responsibilities Leadership & People Management - Lead, coach and develop Branch Managers and teams. - Own workforce planning and FTE deployment. - Drive high‑performance culture and accountability. Operational Excellence & Service Delivery - Ensure consistent quality, fulfilment, compliance, and responsiveness. - Support high‑performing delivery teams while freeing capacity to focus on growth. Sales, Business Development & Commercial Growth (50% of role) - Act as the senior commercial lead for the region. - Build, own and convert a personal pipeline of new business opportunities. - Identify and win new clients across logistics, warehousing, manufacturing and industrial sectors. - Support teams and sales colleagues with joint client visits, proposals, tenders and presentations. - Drive cross‑selling, referrals and expansion within the existing client base. - Deliver both your own sales target and contribute to overall area growth. - Demonstrate a proven track record of recruitment sector sales success. Financial & Commercial Delivery - Own financial performance: gross margin, profitability, and cost control. - Use MI to identify margin opportunities and risk. - Maintain debtor performance and commercial discipline. Client Management - Lead structured client reviews and act as senior escalation point. - Strengthen long‑term client partnerships through service excellence and proactive commercial conversations. Compliance & Governance - Ensure legal, regulatory and operational compliance across the region. - Maintain accurate CRM/ATS records. About You - A proven sales performer in the recruitment sector — essential. - Experienced in winning new business and growing existing accounts. - Strong multi‑site leadership experience. - Commercially intelligent with strong MI capability. - A confident communicator and relationship‑builder. - Organised, resilient and growth‑driven.
