CarmichaelUK is working with a Tier 1 civil engineering contractor on the delivery of a major highways project in Norfolk. We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer to join the team. This major highways project forms part of a nationally significant infrastructure improvement and offers a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established delivery team working across complex earthworks, drainage, concrete structures, and highway realignment. Key Responsibilities: Set out works in accordance with design and specification. Work closely with Section Engineers and Supervisors to plan and deliver site works. Coordinate with design teams to raise RFIs and contribute to red-line drawings and temporary works design briefs. Monitor progress against the programme and assist in short-term planning and sequencing. Ensure that work is delivered safely, to the highest quality, and with minimal environmental impact. Carry out inspections and testing, ensuring accurate records are kept. Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure compliance with scope and standards. Generate and review RAMS, conduct safety/environmental inspections, and ensure all actions are closed out. About You: HND/Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent). Demonstrated experience in setting out and site engineering, ideally with highways experience. Experience in excavation, concrete works, and structural steel is desirable. Proficient in the use of setting out instruments and surveying tools. Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental management systems. Holds a valid CSCS card. SMSTS or SSSTS preferred. Full UK driving licence required.
