Overview

Aircraft Engineering Supervisors (Mechanical and Avionics) Wildcat – RNAS Yeovilton, Yeovil BA22 8HT. 38 hours / 40 hours or 45 hours per week contracts available, Monday to Friday, with option to undertake shift work and shift pay. Serco are proud to support the Fleet Air Arm, including the Wildcat Maritime Force (WMF) based at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton, delivering services ranging from the repair and maintenance of military aircraft to fuel delivery and off-aircraft support services.

Serco have opportunities for Aircraft Engineering Supervisors (Wildcat) to be based at our site at RNAS Yeovilton, Somerset. This role is responsible for the aircraft management and ground support to our Wildcat aircraft.

Our Aircraft Engineering Supervisors carry out contracted tasks ensuring customer policy and regulations are met to a high standard, and raise any customer complaints, quality issues and business risks with Team leads.

This role requires compliance with The Health and Safety at Work (HASAW) Act 1974 and Customer Policy and Regulations. You will be responsible for completing any administration duties required and be willing to attend further training courses to develop your skills and knowledge in the role.

We offer this position as either 40 or 45 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, with an option to undertake shift work, and with additional shift pay.


What you’ll need to do the role

* Minimum of 6 years working in an airworthiness environment, with relevant experience for the Wildcat aircraft, including a minimum of 2 years hands-on experience
* Hold/have ability to hold Certificate of Competency for Supervisory level
* Formal training in the Wildcat aircraft and associated trade systems
* Experience and knowledge of Wildcat Aircraft Engineering and Aircraft Systems (by Trade)
* Experience with Wildcat Aircraft Servicing and Support Equipment
* Certificate of Competency at Supervisory level
* Understanding of Lean Operating Procedures
* Understanding of Naval Air Publications and C-IETP (Interactive Electronic Technical Publications)
* Adherence to Health and Safety, COSHH, Tool Control and Quality Practices
* Understanding of Engineering and Asset Management Systems
* Maintenance Human Factors training or the ability to complete
* Understanding of rotary-wing military aviation procedures
* Understanding of Airworthiness Engineering Safety and Compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements (MAA)
* Ability to work productively and with initiative under tight timescales and pressure while maintaining operational outputs
* Ability to achieve Security Clearance (SC)
