Overview
A leading engineering and manufacturing organisation near Pickering is seeking a Senior Production Planner to lead and develop the site planning function.
This is a key role focused on optimising scheduling, resource planning and inventory management to meet customer delivery targets. You will work cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Projects, Sales and Procurement to drive performance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the Planning team.
* Oversee master scheduling and integrate demand forecasts into production plans.
* Manage MRP/ERP system integrity, including routings, timings and inventory parameters.
* Produce production reports and KPI dashboards.
* Align capacity, staffing and output to delivery targets.
* Monitor inventory levels, kit availability and supply risks.
* Support procurement, change orders and new product introduction.
* Drive OTIF performance and schedule adherence.
* Contribute to lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience & Qualifications
* Background in a technical or business discipline.
* Proven production planning experience within manufacturing/engineering.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in MRP/MRP II or ERP environments.
* At least 5 years’ leadership experience in planning or scheduling.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and production processes.
* Project management training.
* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision or similar ERP systems.
