Options for Care is seeking an exceptional Mental Health Nurse or a suitably experienced Learning Disability Nurse passionate about working with individuals with severe and enduring mental health diagnoses.
Our two established hospitals, Montague Court and Dartmouth House, have successfully supported individuals with mental health diagnoses. We also have Orchard House, a recovery home providing a safe environment for those on their journey to mental health recovery. Additionally, we anticipate opening Stanford Court later this year.
Dartmouth House: a 16-bed male long-term mental health inpatient unit in Handsworth Wood, Birmingham.
Montague Court: an 18-bed male long-term mental health inpatient unit in Edgbaston, Birmingham.
Stanford Court: a 23-bed male mental health inpatient unit in Highgate, Birmingham, including 19-bed enhanced care and four self-contained recovery flats.
Orchard House: an 8-bed residential step-down service in Erdington, Birmingham, extending the care pathway.
Main duties of the job
Under supervision, facilitate evidence-based nursing care, support, and advice to service users and their carers with mental health needs in a multidisciplinary setting, aligning with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
Identify and contribute to training needs, promote equality, diversity, and rights, and ensure effective communication pathways. Manage self, team, and clinical area responsibilities, especially in the absence of the person in charge.

Job Responsibilities
Provide person-centred care, support community integration, and use effective outcome measures and assessment tools. Receive training in early warning signs, relapse prevention, and positive behaviour support. Establish therapeutic relationships, implement evidence-based interventions, and oversee comprehensive nursing care within regulatory frameworks.
Person Specification
Qualifications: Registered Mental Health Nurse with UK NMC Pin.
Experience: Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983/2007, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and responsibilities under the Care Programme Approach, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
