Airedale Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school in West Yorkshire, serving pupils from the ages of 11 to 16. The secondary school, situated in Airedale, Castleford has students on record. It is part of Castleford Trust.

Castleford Trust is a dynamic and inclusive Multi Academy Trust, consisting of nine schools across all phases: three secondary academies, two primary academies, two junior academies and two infant academies. All of the academies are located within the geographical area of Wakefield, forming a medium-sized trust with a strong community feel.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic, motivated, and able Business Manager to provide leadership and management of the Academy's strategic and business resources, alongside Academy and Trust Leaders.

You will:

1. Provide strategic leadership and development of resources and business functions of the academy and its premises.
2. Provide outstanding operational management for all aspects of business services, including finance, facilities and estates management, school administration, catering and health and safety.
3. Influence strategic decision making within the Senior Leadership Team at Airedale Academy and across the Trust Business Team.
4. Maintain an up to date understanding of relevant educational issues, policies, and legislation; and incorporate the implications within the operation of your role.
5. Ensure that the academy has effective financial management and that all appropriate financial systems are in place to ensure accurate financial records are maintained in accordance with agreed Trust policies and timetables.
6. To take overall responsibility for the planning and co-ordination of trips across the Academy, ensuring relevant risk assessments for each trip are carried out and submitted using the relevant system.
7. Investigate and implement activities to attract additional sources of funding.
8. Develop, establish, and manage effective procedures for site management and maintenance.
9. Act as the academy's Lead Person for Health & Safety and as Fire Officer, advising on all Health & Safety matters, including measures in the event of emergencies.
10. Ensure systems are in place for effective monitoring, measuring, and reporting of health and safety issues to the Senior Leadership Team, Trust leaders, and where appropriate, the Health & Safety Executive.
11. Support Trust Leaders by identifying and managing priorities within the Estates Strategy for the academy.
12. Lead and develop the whole school administrative function.
13. Motivate and facilitate teamwork and good practice in order to achieve excellent standards of service delivery.
14. Monitor the effectiveness of the support staff to meet the needs of the academy.
