Our client is a well-established and reputable integrator delivering cutting-edge smart home technologies, home cinema, multi-room audio, and advanced AV/IT solutions to luxury homes and prestigious residential developments across the UK.
Due to continued success and ongoing project growth, they are now seeking a motivated Junior / Trainee Audio Visual Installer to join their expert engineering team.
The Role
As a Junior AV Installer, you will support senior engineers on a wide range of installation projects, helping deliver high-quality systems into new-build and refurbishment residential environments.
Your duties will include:
Supporting 1st fix and 2nd fix installations
Running and terminating structured cabling including CAT5 / CAT6, speaker cable, and control cabling
Carrying out cable pulling, containment, and rack build support
Installing patch panels, network components, AV hardware, and peripherals
Assisting with the installation and setup of:
CCTV and security systems
Access control and door entry systems
Wireless networks and IT infrastructure
Smart home and home automation systems
Working closely with senior engineers to ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards
Maintaining excellent site organisation, cleanliness, and accurate documentationThis is a hands-on role offering fantastic exposure to the AV industry, ideal for someone with strong practical ability and a keen interest in technology.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate strong practical aptitude and a willingness to learn. You should ideally have:
Experience with 1st fix / 2nd fix installation work
Background as an electrical apprentice, electrical improver, or similar trades-based experience (desirable but not essential)
Good understanding of structured cabling, terminations, and basic electrical principles
Experience with RJ45 terminations and cable management
Familiarity with CAT5 / CAT6 cabling, patch panels, and network hardware
A proactive, enthusiastic attitude with a strong interest in AV, IT, or smart home technology
A full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel to various residential sites
Excellent communication, reliability, and teamwork skillsExperience with security or low-voltage systems (CCTV, access control, intruder alarms) would be a distinct advantage but full training will be provided.
