NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff. We provide acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services.
Shift pattern: Monday‑Friday, 9am‑5pm. Salary is pro‑rata for part‑time posts.
Position: 0.5 WTE (Band 8C AFC) within the Renfrewshire Learning Disability Service (RLDS). RLDS works with adults with learning disabilities and follows a psychologically informed, person‑centred approach.
Key responsibilities:
* Provide highly specialised psychological assessment and therapy to adults with learning disabilities.
* Offer consultation to the multidisciplinary team and other stakeholders.
* Govern the delivery of psychological therapies within RLDS.
* Supervise assistant psychologists, trainee psychologists, qualified 8A psychologists and multi‑professional staff.
* Engage in research, quality improvement, audit and service development activities.
* Work autonomously within professional guidelines, policies and procedures.
Essential qualifications and experience:
* Significant clinical psychology practice experience in NHS or equivalent, ideally within learning disability services.
* Clinical supervision of trainees and staff.
* Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council; maintain registration through supervision and CPD.
* Experience with low‑intensity interventions such as Step‑Up, Beat‑It, Positive Behaviour Support and trauma‑informed practice.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
Professional development: The role offers CPD opportunities through NHS Education for Scotland and potential supervision of DClinPsy trainees.
