Quantity Surveyor – Coventry

As SOCOTEC grows, so do our teams. We’re looking for a dedicated Quantity Surveyor to join our Infrastructure division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.
We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and flexible Quantity Surveyor to join our Infrastructure team supporting our Ground Investigations teams. In this role, you’ll need the confidence to work independently, alongside the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team. A background in Quantity Surveying, along with knowledge of construction and Ground Investigation, is essential to thrive in this position.
The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):
* Understanding of NEC Contract – awareness of various options
* Awareness of different construction contracts & their relevant applications
* Support Project Managers/Operations Managers to ensure that the obligations and responsibilities of the different projects and other stakeholders are properly fulfilled
* Draft/review Compensation Events (Change)
* Management of Change Accounts (larger projects)
* Oversight of NEC EWN process & awareness of NEC timescales
* Proactive liaison with PMs and Regional Operations Managers to protect cashflow
* Support payment applications and ensure proper and timely certification
* Ensuring correct administration of contract
* Assisting in feasibility studies for potential work items
* Identifying, analysing & developing responses to commercial risks
* Allocating work to subcontractors & suppliers & controlling risks & costs of same
Qualifications
* Min 3 years QS experience
* Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent
* Knowledge of the construction industry and ground investigations
