SEN Teaching Assistant (Team Teach Trained) – Knowsley (L36)
Milk Education are working in partnership with a specialist secondary school in the Knowsley (L36) area who are looking to appoint a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of complex needs, including epilepsy, physical disabilities, and challenging behaviour.
This role is ideal for someone with Team Teach training, who can remain calm under pressure and provide proactive, therapeutic support to students who require high levels of care and structure.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support students aged 11–16 with complex needs in a specialist classroom setting
2. Provide consistent behavioural and emotional regulation support using Team Teach strategies
3. Assist pupils with medical needs including epilepsy and physical disabilities (training will be provided if needed)
4. Help maintain a safe and structured environment, adapting tasks and materials to meet student needs
5. Work collaboratively with the class teacher, therapists, and support staff to deliver engaging learning opportunities
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
6. Team Teach training (or experience using de-escalation strategies – training can be arranged)
7. Experience working with SEN in secondary settings
8. A calm, confident and resilient approach
9. Experience supporting pupils with medical or physical needs is highly desirable
10. A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people with additional needs
