Senior Java Software Developer – BAE Systems Digital Intelligence
Location: Frimley, UK – Hybrid working (1-2 days onsite per week). Grade: GG10 – GG11. Referral bonus: £5,000.
Overview
As an experienced Java Developer in BAE Systems AI, you’ll work with international customers to enhance and maintain cutting edge national security products. The role is fast‑paced, highly technical and offers tangible impact.
Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain large‑scale Java applications using Spring Boot.
• Design, implement and extend microservices architecture.
• Write comprehensive tests to ensure code compatibility and stability.
• Collaborate with agile teams, deliver high‑quality software and continuously improve processes.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Minimum 4 years of professional Java software development.
* Minimum 2 years of developing microservices with Spring Boot.
* Strong test‑driven development and CI/CD experience.
* Proficiency with Git, Maven and Agile development techniques.
* Experience with high‑quality, maintainable code and ownership of deliverables.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Elasticsearch, Docker, Apache Hadoop, Kafka or Camel.
* JavaScript, Docker, Kubernetes, NiFi, Nsq, Apache Ignite, Arango.
* Knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems.
