We are looking for a Quality Engineer II to deliver world-class software solutions supporting our platform vision. This includes using leading-edge modern technology stack, fostering engineering culture, innovation using new capabilities, designing and building new ways to enhance and expose our capabilities via API’s, cultivating continual improvement in system quality, performance, and robust coding frameworks. Our Quality Engineers understand that “good enough” is never enough. They are experts in automation, testing and quality assurance. They are driven to continuously raise the bar – ensuring that only the highest quality code is released; as that is what our business and our customers depend on.

Translate user needs into system requirements, solution design and acceptance criteria, partnering with product owners, engineers and architects to ensure our solutions meet the business needs in terms of functional, non-functional, performance and resilience expectations. Develop automation test frameworks that drive efficiency, resilience and meaningful test coverage throughout the testing journey with high coding standards and ease maintainability. Ensure adherence to CI/CD toolsets.

As Quality Engineer II, you will also bring your automation testing skill and quality engineering mindset to the team to provide skilled support and an enthusiastic and enquiring mindset to actively promote learning and continued growth of our teams testing maturity and effectiveness. I you will be hands on with the test framework development and maintenance, supporting a variety of testing challenges with an attention to detail and collaboration within the scrum team and beyond.

How will you make an impact in this role?

1. Preferably a BS or MS degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline

2. Actively develop and maintain automation frameworks in a CI/CD environment

3. Execute test cases/scripts, including Systems Integration, Regression, and Performance Testing

4. Work with engineers as part of an Agile scrum team to drive improvements in code quality

5. Knowledge of test methodologies, test data management tools and programming languages

Key Responsibilities

6. Designs and implements detailed test cases and scripts for Systems Integration, Regression, and Performance Testing to ensure high-quality software applications

7. Conducts quality assurance projects and continuous improvement initiatives to refine quality assurance processes and tools while coordinating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

8. Advances the creation of test plans, determines testing resource needs, and schedules testing activities to ensure thorough and timely testing

9. Actively engages in design discussions to identify and mitigate defects early, providing recommendations for user story backlog requirements with a focus on consumer impact

10. Drives the development and execution of continuous integration/continuous deployment automation processes, contributing to the team's automation strategy and fostering innovation in testing methodologies

11. Tracks defect resolution and performs root cause analysis to identify underlying issues, ensuring long-term solutions are implemented

12. Collaborates with scrum team, product owner(s) and the business to align technology initiatives with business objectives

Minimum qualifications:

13. You will be responsible for driving quality through automation and accountable for:

14. Building an automation suite testing a multitude of business capabilities

15. Developing and communicating the automation and testing strategy

16. Setting the direction of quality assurance for our department

17. Experience using testing automation tools/frameworks/patterns such as SoapUI, JMeter, Selenium WebDriver, page object, TestNG

18. Good knowledge of API, performance and security testing

19. Experience in Test-Driven Development (TDD), unit testing, functional testing, system integration testing, regression testing, GUI testing, web service testing, and browser compatibility testing. Experience of Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) would be an advantage.

20. Knowledge of automated build / continuous integration platforms, especially Maven and Jenkins (Gradle, ANT, Hudson useful)

21. Experience of using the Atlassian product suite (e.g. JIRA, Confluence) or other Agile work item management tools (e.g. Rally)

22. Knowledge of Java & JEE, including Hibernate, Spring, Junit, Selenium, REST, Cucumber, Headless browser testing

23. Attention to detail and accuracy are essential
